Hong Kong financial professionals are overworked
Hong Kong financial professionals are over worked
This article compares working hours of finance professionals in Hong Kong with those in Singapore and Australia, suggesting that Hong Kong professionals work longer hours.
It also goes into data and survey results looking at the extent professionals are working outside of “contracted hours” and during weekends or holidays.
Maybe financial professionals are not alone in this, but this demonstrates work intrusiveness or more positively, an all embracing nature of work. This is not necessarily a bad thing, I would propose, especially if at the end of the day the individuals concerned feel meaningfully engaged. When one is passionate about one’s work, I believe one may naturally breathe work. Hopefully not at the expense of neglected or disgruntled family, or at the sacrifice of one’s greater well-being and quality of life.
